On February 27, he Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation of Korea University officially launched the ‘Sejong Industry-Academia-Research University Council’ at the Courtyard by Marriott Sejong. This council was established to strengthen collaboration between universities in the Sejong region and Sejong City, with the aim of fostering local human resources and promoting technological development.

 

The event was organized by the Sejong Research and Business Cooperation Foundation and attended by research and business cooperation foundations from Hongik University Sejong Campus, Korea University of Media Arts, and Hanbat National University. The council seeks to revitalize the RISE project and promote joint initiatives, establish a leading model for research and business cooperation in the Sejong region, and expand inter-university research and business education and student exchange programs.

 

During the event, participants engaged in discussions on the current status of each university, an introduction to the Daejeon Regional Research and Business Cooperation Council, the signing of a memorandum of understanding, and joint program discussions under the RISE project. These activities aimed to explore practical cooperation strategies and establish a sustainable collaboration model for regional development in Sejong.

 

Director Kim Heeseok of the foundation stated, “The launch of this council, universities, industries, research institutions, and local governments are expected to work together organically to create an innovative regional ecosystem, thereby further advancing professional cultivation and technological development.”

 

On a related note, the council plans to hold regular meetings and seminars to continuously develop collaborative initiatives.
