Hoyeon Dormitory is the residential facility of Korea University Sejong Campus, which began with the opening of the Men’s Dormitory (Libertas Dormitory) in 1989. Currently, it operates a total of four dormitories: called Libertas Dormitory, Justitia Dormitory, Veritas Dormitory, and Futurus Dormitory accommodating about 2,700 students.

 

Types of Hoyeon Dormitory

Each dormitory at Hoyun has different target residents and room types. Libertas Dormitory is exclusively for male students and offers double and triple rooms. Justitia Dormitory is for female students only and provides double and quadruple rooms. Veritas Dormitory is a co-ed dormitory, primarily consisting of triple rooms with some double rooms available. The most recently built Futurus Dormitory also accepts both male and female students, offering single and double rooms.

 

Differences in Selection Criteria for New and Current Students
The selection criteria for new and current students also differ. New students are given priority for selection, while current students are selected based on their previous semester’s grades. The number of students selected is determined proportionally to the number of applicants by department, and the selection criteria reflect only the grades of the previous semester, not the cumulative GPA. As a result, there is no fixed cutoff score every year or semester, and the cutoff is announced on the selection result day. Additionally, extra selection rounds may be held.

 

On a related note, dormitory fees vary depending on the dormitory and room type. The fees for Libertas Dormitory are 621,000 won for triple rooms and 765,000 won for double rooms. In Justitia Dormitory, the cost is 705,000 won for quadruple rooms and 904,000 won for double rooms. Veritas Dormitory’s fee is 767,000 won, while Futurus Dormitory is the most expensive at 1,286,000 won.
